Day 1: Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Board the ship, settle into your cabin and it’s time to explore! Foyer, lounges & bars, restaurants, spa, sports facilities, disco, playground, swimming pools, live music and performance areas!
Day 2: Katakolon (Olympia), Greece
On the Peloponnese shores stands the little seaside town of Katakolon. Situated on a headland overlooking the blue Ionian Sea, this charming location boasts a lighthouse, the Agios Nicolaos Church, and musical instruments museum. A short ride away lies the ancient site of Olympia, the extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site. 3000 years ago, it hosted Greece’s first Olympic Games in its Panhellenic religious sanctuary. Explore the fascinating world of Greek mythology on an MSC Cruises excursion to the archaeological site of Olympia. This is one of the most significant places in Greece’s history, settled in the hilly region of the river Alfeiós. Visit the remains of the Temple of Zeus, the gymnasium, the hippodrome, and the great stadium which seated up to 45,000 spectators.
Day 3: Corfu, Greece
The resort island of Corfu, is renowned for its rocky mountains, beautiful beaches, and utterly romantic atmosphere. It’s capital city, also named Corfu, is one of the ancient jewels of Greece. Here you’ll find a Venetian fortress and a UNESCO World Heritage old town boasting winding lanes, bustling bars, towering houses, and heavenly gardens. Discover ancient remains from eras past, scattered throughout the island. Day 4: Cefalonia (Argostoli), Greece
Discover the jewel of the Ionian Sea — the Greek island of Cefalonia. Explore awe-inspiring caves, wander sandy coves, or take a dip in its turquoise waters. Here, colourful port villages cluster around scenic harbours and dazzling beaches. This natural paradise is home to an abundance of fauna including turtles, pine martens, and seals. Further afield, discover an abundance of natural wonders including UNESCO World Heritage site caves. With its breathtaking beaches and world-class restaurants, Bari is a memorable seaside destination. Day 7: Santorini, Greece
Approximately 200-km southeast of mainland Greece, lies Santorini, a Cyclades Island. This destination was formed from the remains of a volcanic caldera which is evident in its rugged geology. Santorini is famous for its sheer cliffs, red beach, and whitewashed houses that contrast strikingly against the blue Aegean Sea. The island is also home to ancient archaeological sites, hot spring swimming, and stunning wineries. MSC offers plenty of exciting things to see including Oia Village, The Archaeological site of Akrotiri, Black Stretches of Volcanic Sand. The picturesque village of Oia lies on an edge of the volcanic caldera overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. If you’re a keen history buff, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri. It’s a crime to visit Santorini without exploring its natural wonders. Visit Perivolos Beach, for a swim in its crystal-clear waters.
