Day 1: Departure for Belgrade

Departure early in the morning from Thessaloniki to the border of Evzona. Free time for shopping at DUTY FREE, the duty free shop. Then and passing peripherally through Skopje, we arrive at the Serbian border. Crossing the border and entering Old Serbia. Arrival in the capital, Belgrade. Check-in at the hotel. In the evening first acquaintance with the city.

Day 2: Belgrade – city tour – St. Sava – Tito monumental centre – by night Zemun – cruise

Breakfast and start the tour of the beautiful capital of Serbia. We will start from the symbol of the old town, the fortress Kalemegdan, built at the confluence of the rivers Danube and Sava and built during the years of the Ottoman Empire as a fortification for protection from enemies, the Nebosja Tower, which was the prison and the place of death of King Feraios, and continue with the churches Ruzica and St. Paraskevi. We will see the Republic Square, the National Theatre, the famous mansion of Princess Ljubica, the hotel , a trademark of the city and of course St. Sava, the largest Orthodox church in the Balkans. St. Sava Cathedral is an Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Serbia. It is built in the centre of Belgrade, on the site of the presumed location of his tomb, to which the church is dedicated. We will also see the Tito Memorial Centre dedicated to the great leader, the City Hall and the Parliament. In the afternoon, we will take a panoramic Danubian bus ride to the Zemun district, one of the most picturesque areas of the city. Optional cruise on the Sava & Danube rivers. Return to the hotel and free time

Day 3: Novi Sad tour – Sremsi Karlovci – night walk in Skadarlija

Breakfast and optional departure for the city of Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina and the second largest city in Serbia. It is an economic centre and is particularly known for its university. It is built on the banks of the Danube and was founded to serve as a stopover for trade. On our tour we will see the Petrovaradin Castle, with a nice view of the Danube River, Slobodan Square, the Cathedral, the City Hall and have free time on the main pedestrian street. Then we will visit the provincial town of Sremsi karlovci, which is located just 5 km from the city and we will have the opportunity to see the historical seat of the Patriarchate and the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. It is a place of great intellectual and cultural value as it was the birthplace of the world’s first literary magazine. During our return to Belgrade we will enjoy a route of outstanding natural beauty. In the afternoon free time in the city. Do not miss to visit the large pedestrian street of Knez Mihailova Street, with shops for cheap but quality shopping. Alternatively, you can visit in New Belgrade the large shopping centre Usche, where you will find all the well-known European brands. In the evening we recommend you to go out to the bohemian area of the city, the famous Skadarlija, one of the most beautiful areas, where the nightlife lasts until the early morning hours and you will find restaurants, bars, clubs. The area will remind you of the old Ladadika of Thessaloniki. A special note in the paved area is given by the street musicians, who sing traditional Serbian songs.

Day 4: Optional day trip to Timisoara

Breakfast at the hotel and free day in the city. For explorers, we recommend an (optional) day trip to Timisoara, Romania, 148 km from Belgrade. During our visit to the European Capital of Culture 2023, we will visit the most important sights of the city, such as Victory Square, also known as Opera Square, the Orthodox Cathedral, the Bastion, Liberty Square, the Old Town Hall, the Synagogue, Union Square, the Catholic Cathedral, the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Presidential Palace, the Holy Trinity Statue and others. In Timisoara we will encounter a mixture of cultures and religions. It is the first European city to use horse-drawn trams (1869) and electric street lighting (1889). It was here that the 1989 revolution against the then existing regime began. After the city tour, there will be free time to have lunch and explore the city on your own. Late afternoon return to Belgrade.

Day 5: Belgrade – Nis – Return

Breakfast and departure for the historic city of Nis, located on the banks of the Nisawa River. It is the third largest city in the country and is famous, as Constantine the Great was born here. Short tour of the city and transfer to the Serbia-Skopje border. With necessary stops en route we arrive in Thessaloniki in the late evening.
