Programme:

Day 1: DIRECT FLIGHT TO BOLOGNA – PRATO

Meeting at the airport, where you will meet the office escort, a guide specialized in the specific destination. Check-in and direct flight to Bologna. The capital of Emilia – Romagna and favourite city of Italians. Ancient university town, with the oldest university in Europe (from 1088) where, among others, Copernicus and Dante studied. After a short tour we will end up in the central medieval Piazza Maggiore. The local authentic Italian cuisine is considered an art by the locals and is very famous so don’t miss to try it. Late afternoon arrival in beautiful Prato, check in to the hotel and free time for rest.

Day 2: FLORENCE CITY TOUR

Breakfast followed by a guided tour of the city of Florence. Florence is a museum city with paintings, frescoes, and sculptures from the richest and most productive period of art and culture ever known. We will see the Church of the Holy Cross, Santa Croce, Florence’s most impressive church and the burial place of 270 prominent Florentines, including Galileo, Michelangelo and Machiavelli. We will admire the Ponte Vecchio bridge, with its houses and shops that seem to float over the river, one of the most characteristic images of Florence. In Piazza de la Signoria we will see the Palazzo Vecchio, seat of the local government for seven hundred years, which today houses remarkable works of sculpture, and we will reach Piazza San Giovanni, home to the third largest cathedral in Europe, Santa Maria del Fiore, with its famous Brunelleschi dome, a trademark of the city. Free time to visit the San Lorenzo market. This is followed by free time in the city centre.

Day 3: SIENA – SAN GIMIGNANO – WINERY (TENUTA TORCIANO)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the jewel of Tuscany, San Cimignano. San Cimignano is located in the Tuscan wine zone. This beautiful medieval village is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The medieval towers are the hallmark of San Cimignano. The town developed a lot from the Middle Ages onwards due to the fertile hills of the area. The fact that it was a stopover for Catholic pilgrims during their journey to Rome played an important role. Our next destination is the museum city of Siena. The city is divided into seventeen “Contrada” (neighborhoods) and each one is named after an animal or an object. This quaint provincial town has an aura of a bygone era not entirely due to its architecture which has been preserved intact! A big part of its atmosphere is its people, welcoming and in more “quiet” times they make you smile and relax in a truly fairytale place that feels like any moment a knight will appear on its cobbled streets, looking for his princess! We will then head to one of the most famous wineries in Tuscany. We will have time for tasting local wine varieties, as the region is famous for their wine, as well as a lunch with local flavors. Late afternoon return to our hotel.

Day 4: PRATO – VENICE – TOUR

After a good breakfast our day begins with our transfer to Mestre for our accommodation. After settling into our rooms we will begin our tour of Galinotati, as Venice was called during its rule. We will get to know the city with its 118 islands, 160 canals and 400 bridges, the home of Casanova and traveler Marco Polo, whose foundation dates back to the 5th century. Transfer to Tronceto, from where we depart by boat to the famous Piazza San Marco, the “most beautiful salon in Europe” according to Napoleon. There, we will see the homonymous church with its five domes, the famous Doge’s Palace, built in the mid-14th century, the Clock Tower, the old prisons, the famous Bridge of Stenagma. The whole city is a work of art and its buildings in Venetian-Gothic style will leave you speechless.
