Paris

Paris

4 days, 4 – 7 October, from 545€/person + taxes.

Paris is not just another city, it’s a whole world! A unique program to enjoy the “City of the Light”, experience French culture and feel the aura of this magical city! You will see the city that has been the setting for great cinematic and non-movie loves, that has been sung about and loved more than any city in the world, to become a symbol and a legend. The city has identified its name with the concepts of elegance, culture and aesthetics, and is one of the most brilliant capitals of the world. It is the centre of political innovation, free expression of ideas and love! It is no coincidence that when Hemingway visited it for the first time in the early 1930s, he wrote: “If you see the world as a pyramid, then surely at the top is located Paris”.

Schedule:

Day 1: Flight to Paris – Transfer to the hotel

Meeting at the airport, check-in and direct flight to the French capital, Paris. Arrival, and after collecting the luggage we will meet the tour leader, who is a permanent resident of Paris and an absolute connoisseur of the city’s history and culture. Day 2: City tour – Arc de Triomphe – Louvre Museum – Montmartre – Cruise on the Seine

Breakfast and we start our tour, where we will make our first stop at Trocadero, where we will have the opportunity to photograph the absolute star of the city, the Eiffel Tower, the most recognizable monument in the world. We continue with the largest arc in the world, the Arc de Triomphe, the famous Avenue of the Champs Elysees, but also Avenue of Pride for the French Republic, the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, art exhibition halls, followed by the most impressive bridge of Alexander III, the imposing Palais des Apomaches and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Parliament (National Assembly). We continue with the Place de la Concorde (Place de la Concorde), the old Royal Garden, now known as the Kerameikos Garden, the Orsay Museum, the prestigious Place Vendome and the famous Ritz Hotel, the impressive Opera Garnier and the Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in the city. We will cross the Isle of Cité, the historic centre, since that is where the city was born, to get closer to – the most famous cathedral in the world, Notre Dame de Paris, which we will see from the outside due to the extensive damage to its roof. Moving on, you will see the neighbourhood of Cartier-Latin, the historic Sorbonne University and the Luxembourg Gardens – an oasis of mental and physical exhilaration, with its magnificent fountains and statues, and the homonymous palace of Marie de Medici. Next is the Pantheon, the necropolis of important personalities of the country, such as Victor Hugo, the artistic district of Saint Germain with its famous cafés les Deux magots and café de Flor, Saint Sulpice Square and the School of Fine Arts. Free time and then full of images we will visit the world’s most famous museum, the Louvre. It is no coincidence that they call it “The World Temple of Art”. With our official Greek-speaking guide we will wander the magical spaces of this old palace and admire its treasures. We will follow it on a journey of exploration, a journey through time and human creation. Of course, a major stop on this visit will be the Greek wing, a pillar of the museum, with the two Greek stars, Niki of Samothrace and Aphrodite of Milos, as well as the part of the Parthenon frieze with the Labyrinths and the fronts from the sanctuary of ancient Olympia. We continue in the adjacent wing with the Mona Lisa, and other works of art that are milestones in the development of the Italian Renaissance. We will also dwell on the masterpieces of French painting by 18th and 19th century painters, which “illuminate” the museum’s large galleries. In the evening, we recommend an optional tour of illuminated Paris. We will visit the highest natural point of the city, the Montmartre Hill, dominated by the Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart) Basilica with its spectacular views, the square of the outdoor painters and the home of Salvador Dali. Free time to stroll through the quaint Parisian shops of the square. Then, you will experience Paris from a different perspective, the unique viewpoint offered by a bateaux mouches cruise through the illuminated historic buildings of Paris (cruise on the Seine).

Let yourself be fascinated by the colors, the joyful music, the spectacular shows, the majestic parades of all the Disney heroes. We suggest you experience the life in the Far West era, with its riverboats and canyons, wander on Indiana Jones’ roller coaster and visit Pirate Island, with its hidden treasures and fabulous bazaars. Dine in person at one of the 29 restaurants, and visit the magical world of Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Travel in the VISIONARIUM with Jules Verne, and risk a journey between meteorites and spaceships on the STAR TOUR. Late in the afternoon, return to our hotel. For those who do not follow the Disney visit, we recommend a stroll through the picturesque Marais, also known as “Old Paris”, an aristocratic district of Paris that still retains its classic, medieval style and seamlessly combines the charm and romance of the past with modern Paris.
